RTFO Sample Bottles

RTFO Sample Bottles are precision glass specimen containers designed for use in Rolling Thin Film Ovens to evaluate the effects of heat and air on asphalt binder during simulated short-term aging. Manufactured from heat-resistant borosilicate glass, the bottles feature the specified geometry required to create a consistent rolling film of asphalt binder as they rotate inside the oven. They are suitable for testing in accordance with ASTM D2872, AASHTO T 240, and CTM 346.

• Borosilicate Glass Construction – Provides excellent heat resistance and durability for repeated asphalt binder testing.

• Standard RTFO Dimensions – Approximately 64 mm (2.52 in.) outside diameter x 140 mm (5.5 in.) long, with an approximately 32 mm (1.25 in.) opening.

• Designed for RTFO Testing – Bottle geometry allows the asphalt binder sample to continuously form a thin moving film during oven rotation.

• Convenient Replacement or Extra Bottles – Keeping additional bottles available allows samples to be prepared in advance and can reduce turnaround time between tests.

• Eight Bottles Make a Complete RTFO Set – Standard Rolling Thin Film Ovens accommodate eight specimen bottles per test cycle.
